Tesla Powerwall customers in Maine may be eligible for the Efficiency Maine Small Battery Program, which allows homeowners to earn incentive payments by sharing a portion of their battery’s stored energy during periods of high electricity demand.

Eligible homeowners can currently earn up to approximately $576 per Powerwall per year through Tesla’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program. Events typically occur on weekday evenings, may last up to three hours, and participation is managed automatically through the Tesla app.

One advantage of Tesla’s program is the ability to adjust your backup reserve settings. This allows you to determine how much battery capacity remains available for outages while still participating in the program.

Enrollment is completed through the Tesla app after your system is installed and interconnected.
