Public EV Charger Reimbursement Program

Are you a decision-maker for a city or town in Maine that could benefit from having more public electric vehicle charging stations?

Maine Solar Solutions is excited to share information about a time-sensitive Efficiency Maine program making public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations significantly more affordable. 

This program offers reimbursement of up to 80% of the total eligible cost of public-use Level 2 EV charging station installations, up to $200,000 per site. A total of $9.6 million is available for this initiative, funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program. 

Efficiency Maine will accept proposals now through December 3, 2026 or until funding is exhausted, whichever comes first. Communities interested in installing public EV charging stations are encouraged to explore this opportunity as soon as possible.
